Auden Grove
A small studio team gathered around a shared table with laptops and notes, reviewing work together
Independent brand & web studio

Brands and websites your own team can run.

Auden Grove designs identities, websites and content systems for organisations that are outgrowing their first look — and hands them over in a shape your people can keep using long after launch.

What we make

Four kinds of work, one studio

Most projects combine two or three of these. Each row lists what you actually receive and how long that part usually takes, so you can see where your project starts.

  1. 01

    Brand identity

A name check, visual identity and voice that hold together across print, screen and signage.

    You receive
    • Logo suite and usage rules
    • Colour and type system
    • Tone-of-voice notes
    • Starter templates
    Typical duration5–7 weeks
  2. 02

    Websites

Structure, copy direction, design and build for sites that explain clearly and load quickly on any phone.

    You receive
    • Page map and wireframes
    • Designed and built pages
    • Accessibility pass
    • Editing walkthrough
    Typical duration6–10 weeks
  3. 03

    Content systems

Reusable layouts and writing patterns so new pages, reports and campaigns look right without calling us.

    You receive
    • Component library
    • Editorial style guide
    • Document and slide templates
    Typical duration3–5 weeks
  4. 04

    Launch support

A planned handover: training your editors, checking the live site and fixing what real use uncovers.

    You receive
    • Team training session
    • Launch checklist
    • Post-launch fixes window
    Typical duration2–4 weeks
How a project runs

Five stages, no surprises

Every stage ends with something you can review and approve. We also tell you up front what we'll need from your side, so your team can plan its time.

  1. Stage 01

    Listen

Conversations with the people who will use and maintain the work, plus a look at what exists today.

You provideTwo or three people for short interviews.

  2. Stage 02

    Frame

A written brief and page map that set scope, priorities and what we are deliberately leaving out.

    You provideOne approval meeting.

  3. Stage 03

    Design

Two directions shown in real contexts, then one refined in detail with your feedback.

    You provideConsolidated feedback per round.

  4. Stage 04

    Build

Production files and the website itself, reviewed on a private link as pages come together.

You provideFinal copy and images for each page.

  5. Stage 05

    Hand over

Training, documentation and a fixes window, so ownership moves to your team cleanly.

You provideThe people who will edit day to day.

Case notes

What the brief was, what we made

Short notes on two representative projects. They show the kind of problem we are good at, rather than a gallery of finished screens.

Colour swatch cards and design tools spread across a desk during identity development
Identity + website
A regional arts trust

One identity for six venues that had drifted apart

The brief
Each venue had built its own look over the years. Visitors did not realise the programmes were connected.
What we made
A shared identity with a flexible colour system per venue, a single events website and poster templates the in-house team now produce themselves.
A team working through sticky notes on a glass wall during a planning workshop
Content system
A specialist engineering consultancy

Technical reports people actually finish reading

The brief
Long client reports were assembled by hand from old files, and every author formatted them differently.
What we made
A writing guide, a report template with ready-made chart and table styles, and a short website section explaining the firm's methods in plain language.
Ways to work together

Pick a starting shape

Not sure how big your project is? Most clients start with a Sprint and decide the rest once the brief is written down.

Sprint

A focused look at one problem, ending in a clear plan.

Best for
Unclear scope, or a board that needs a proposal
Length
Two weeks
You leave with
Written brief, page map and first visual direction

Build

A complete identity, website or both, from brief to launch.

Best for
Organisations ready to replace what they have
Length
Two to four months
You leave with
Finished work, source files and trained editors

Partner

A reserved block of studio time each month after launch.

Best for
Teams with steady campaigns, reports or new pages
Length
Rolling, reviewed each quarter
You leave with
A studio that already knows your system

Tell us roughly what you need and when. We reply with the shape we'd suggest and an honest view of whether we're the right studio.

Before you enquire

Questions we hear first

If yours isn't here, add it to the enquiry form and we'll answer it in our first reply.

Do we need a fixed budget before contacting you?

No. A rough range helps us suggest the right shape of project, but many clients start with a Sprint precisely to work out what a sensible budget looks like.

How far ahead should we get in touch?

We plan projects around start windows, so six to eight weeks before you'd like to begin is ideal. Short Sprints can sometimes start sooner.

Who owns the finished work?

You do. On final payment you receive the source files, fonts licensed in your name where needed, and full administrative access to your website.

Which website platform do you build on?

We recommend a platform after the Framing stage, based on who will edit the site and how often. We favour tools your team can learn in an afternoon.

Can you work with our existing brand?

Yes. Many website projects keep the current logo and refine only colour, type and layout rules so the site feels consistent with what people already know.

What happens after launch?

Every Build includes a fixes window and a training session. After that you can run things yourselves, or reserve monthly time through a Partner arrangement.
